Rhine Delta
In this part of the river, the Rhine takes the name of Nederrijn, Waal, Nieuwe Maas, etc ... it is in Rotterdam that is the Rhine river main mouth in the North Sea.

Lower Rhine
Between Cologne (Köln) in Germany and the Netherlands, the Ruhr river joins the Rhine river in Duisburg (Duisburg) which is the 1st inland port in the world.

Middle Rhine
It's in this German part of the Rhine river, located between Bingen-am-Rhein and Bonn, that the Upper Middle Rhine Valley are located. The Upper Middle Rhine Valley was classified as World Heritage by UNESCO and better known as "Rhine Gorge" or "Rhin Romantique" in french.

Upper Rhine
Between Basel in Switzerland and Mainz in Germany via Strasbourg in France, the Upper Rhine is long for 350 kilometers and forms the border between Germany and France along the Alsace region.

High Rhine
The High Rhine, not to be confused here with the Franche Haut-Rhin department located in Alsace, is the section between Stein am Rhein at the exit of Lake Constance (Bodensee) and Basel. The most touristic place is undoubtedly the Rhine Falls classified among the largest in Europe. The Rhine here delimits the border between Switzerland and Germany.

Lake Constance (Bodensee)
Lake Constance (Bodensee) is located in Switzerland, Germany and Austria. The Alpine Rhine flows into Lake Constance in the Austrian part of the lake.

Alpine Rhine
Anterior Rhine and Posterior Rhine join together at Bonaduz in Switzerland and form the Alpine Rhine which flows through the Rhine valley to Lake Constance. The Rhine here partly forms the border between Switzerland and Liechtenstein and between Switzerland and Austria.

Anterior Rhine
Tomasee (Lake Toma) at an altitude of 2345 m is considered the source of the Rhine and feeds the anterior Rhine which joins the Posterior Rhine after Ruinaulta canyon to form the Rhine.
